Regularly study the vocabulary and expressions that we do in class.
I recommend a minimum of 10 - 15 minutes, three to four days per week.
April 1 - 12
Grade 5 Fabulous job on the unit! - Vive l'amitié (long live friendship!), on the theme of friendship. This week (of April 1st) you will present as partners.
You will describe your partner in French in terms of physical characteristics, personality traits, favourite colours and pastimes. You will also learn about one another's special talents and about activities that you like to participate in. The final project will be the creation of a cube to honour your partner. Each side will describe and depict an aspect of this friend. Each student will present their partner to the class.
I will need you to bring in a printed photo (or email me a photo) of you doing something you like to do. In the past students have brought in pictures of themselves playing the piano or in dance class or gymnastics or even cooking! Please don't bring in any photos that are special. If you wish to use a photo that you only have one copy of, take a picture of it, and I'll print that.
Merci et vive l'amitié! Mme. Cowley The vocabulary and verb sets are ALL posted in Google Classroom. Please review for 5-10 minutes daily.
Great job working with the verbs - "etre" and "avoir"! Please keep up the practice on your own by making sentences about your feelings/character.
Wonderful work on the unit! - "Fêtons l'hiver" (Let's celebrate winter!) about winter festivals in Canada and around the world. The unit culminated in class activities surrounding making "les queues de castor" (beaver tails) and a poster on a festival somewhere in the world. Students took part in making (and doing!) relay races and arts and crafts related to winter. Posters will be completed and presented this week (of April 1st)
It is important that students practice their French regularly and attempt to speak French in class.
Spring is truly here!
Merci et fêtons l'hiver & fêtons le printemps aussi! Mme. Cowley
